I don’t like when newspapers and magazines start to pile up. I can’t throw them out unread. I must go through each one… like I’m going to miss something if I don’t… sigh.
Finally a nice weekend of weather. I took a stack outside. Caught up on all the local papers, then moved on to magazines. Metropolitan Home didn’t do much for me. I earmarked zero pages. Elle Decor? Different story. Check this mosaic factory out, SICIS , when you get a chance. If I was rich I’d have to go visit this factory, so I could pick and choose all the patterns to bring back to my house!
See what I mean? That picture right above this? Plain old concrete walls? Who needs a wall finish with beautiful floors like these? They do sculptures, mannequins, mirrors and more! Of course, I don’t NEED a mannequin, but I’d WANT one. Like the snobby girl, Veruca Salt, in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory – “I want an Oompa Loompa NOW!”
Then a new website to check out VandM.com – Vintage and Modern Incorporated - a site they claim ‘Designers and Collectors NEED to Know About…’ Open to the design trade and savvy public. Buy online from over 100 dealers – vintage furniture, antique furniture, contemporary furniture, lighting, textiles, home accessories, art, and even jewelry.

and two different times I saw crackles used in the wall decor. One was in Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer’s home in East Hampton, New York. The painting in the dining room was by Alberto Burri and looked something like this -
the other was in the guest room of a Southhampton, New York, property – a Frank Thief photograph, framed, that resembled this -

gonna have to get that Elle Decor! I did rip that photo of the high heeled shoe bath to my girlfriend this week. She loves all things high heeled! How funny to see it here!
I wonder how many of those they’ve sold, as well as the mannequins and such? But I was fascinated with their offerings for floors,walls etc… Very urban, metallic stuff – pretty sweet!
