The kids are still away camping… it feels like forever since they’ve been home. I miss them.
My hubster and I came real close to driving off to Cedar Point early this morning. We haven’t been to the Point since the mid-90’s, before the kids were born. We both get FREAKED out by rollercoasters, but love to ride them for the thrill. We took the kids to Kings Island a couple years ago and they HATED it! Super scared….. Julia recently told me “I will run away!” if we make them go to Cedar Point… ???!!! Fine. We’ll go without them.
We wanted to ride this -

Millennium Force
and this

Maverick
and this (OMG!)

Dragster
and this

Thunderhawk
but we decided not to go. Did some research and the 4th looks to be a real busy holiday, not to mention it landing on a Saturday…. AND the weather today in the Great Lakes Region is finally deciding to look like summer again. Partner that with fireworks tonight at the park, and a late night ‘Open till 1AM’…… is why we aren’t there now. I love thrill and fun but I know I’d turn grumpy real quick if every ride was a 2 hour + wait….. but we WILL get there before this summer is over!
Instead, we’ll visit my sister’s house for a family BBQ. , a great way to spend July 4th celebrating our Independence.
Heres another thrill my sister just sent me- The Sears Tower in Chicago just installed glass platforms that stick out of the building, 103 floors up! You can read more about it here Sears Tower Ledge. I got the eebies just looking at these pictures -

Would be fun to be on that glass ledge when Downtown sets the fireworks off the Navy Pier -

Yeah patti…. there is NO WAY I WOULD DO ANYYYYYYYYY OF THOSE PHOTOS. I want to hurl my coffee just looking at them. I do have 2 boys and one husband who are all thrill seekers…..so they would love it! That Sears Tower thing gives me the heevy-geevies.
Whaaaa? Jen, you would not ride those? I had you pegged as a coaster rider for sure! I will say the older I get the more hesitant I become, but I let myself get caught up in the whirl of it all, following the long line of crazy people buzz…. then before I know it the lock bar has come down and there’s no turning back, even though I wish I could change my mind!
I am a big girl’s blouse too…I couldn’t even THINK about roller coasters like that. I WOULD puke over everyone.
