Caromal Workshops, Distressed, Gilded and Horchow Eye Candy

Finally, I got together my Fall schedule for the Caromal Colours Workshops I will be hosting.  This time around, I have the opportunity to teach, not only at my own shop, but also out in several Metro Detroit communities – Grosse Pointe Farms and Rochester Hills.    How exciting!

All the details can be found on my WORKSHOPS page,     located here.     In a nutshell,  there are 3 workshops that I will be offering this fall:

Easy Cabinet, Furniture , Accessories Finishing –     working with the Caromal Colours Distressing and Barnworn Kit Products

Gilding Pumpkins and Leaves  – working with the Caromal Colours Gilding Kit Products

Wall Finishes –   working with the Caromal Colours Glazy Days, Classic Plaster, Stenciling and In Your Own Words Kit Products

If you live in the Metro Detroit Area, and have an interest in learning, or working hands-on , with these products, before attempting a project of your own at home, then please check out the schedule for more information.   The workshops are informal, affordable, and offer a fun way to learn!

This morning I got my fix of Horchow.  I had an email ad and checked it out.  Eye candy galore.   I noticed every piece of furniture that was distressed,   or that was a color that Caromal offers in their textured basecoats for furniture.   What I saw at Horchow made me realize that Caromal Colours  is pretty spot on with current trends, and it gave me ideas on ways I could use the products.

Pretty style of this secretary. Love the color – reminds me of  Caromal Colours Bayberry, Toned-

Could use Caromal Colours Textured Basecoat Antique Parchment (cream)  or Whisteria (white), distress back and Toned, to get close to this Lotus Cabinet finish…. even pretty it up using real gold leaf (gilding kit) to stencil –

similiar to something like these, but I’d get rid of the texture and lay it smoother –
