A Caromal Colours Glider, And A Question – Bare Wood Or Stained?

I recently connected with Connie – she wanted to share photos of  a recent glider she had painted using Caromal Colours Textured Basecoats Paprika over Peppercorn

started with Paprika, when dry she brushed on chipping creme

when chipping creme was dry she applied Peppercorn

when dry she sanded to distress. The sanding will make your piece look dull and powdery but do not worry, the Toner brings it back to life.

She wanted to order a few Caromal Colours barnworn paint samples for a new project on the horizon.

Also, I have a question for you…Is it better to paint with Caromel Colours on bare wood or wood that has been stained first?  I will be painting the entertainment center that my husband built last week so right now it is barewood.  Will send pics when finished.   Connie

The nice thing about the Caromal paints is they go over almost any surface –  bare wood, stained wood, painted wood, topcoated finishes, laminate, formica, metal, plastic, glass…  it is the fantastic primer-like quality that allows the paints to bond and stay put.    For your entertainment center?  I’d start right over that raw wood and save myself the time, effort (and money) of staining it.

As a side note, I have found that painting over RAW wood gets you the best coverage out of any of the colors – one coat will cover raw wood.

I have a site for you, to update your cushion to go with your Beautiful new Rocker.
A great site for anyone who reads here. The endless possibilities for those who are not willing to spend a arm and a leg. Yet want something different, with character, and of quality to last.
