Caromal Colour’s Newest Texture Basecoat Color Huckleberry Blue…

Introducing the 13th Caromal Colours Texture Basecoat  –  Huckleberry Blue

No need for words,  lets just play with paint –

Layer 1-

Layer 2 –

Lightly sanded…

Taped off a section to apply the Toner to –

brush it on –

then wipe it off with rag…  top part of door is the original oak,  next band is the blue before sanding,  next band is the blue finish light sanded, rest of door is blue toned –

reminds me of denim jeans…

Hangin with all the other Texture Basecoat colors –

Can’t stop there…. YOU KNOW ME!!!!    So, this next door was done using the Huck Blue and Wisteria –  the bottom of the door was full strength HB, and then faded out, from the Wisteria , as I went higher.   I light sanded (220) when it was dry, which faded it out – and I loved it!   I added a stencil using the Caromal White Stencil Creme –

Be still my heart….

Think about it –  you take an old cabinet or piece of furniture – you make sure the surface is clean and wax free (spic/span or simple green),  then you brush on a couple coats of a water based paint that is beyond versatile…  you lightly sand it with a 220 sheet of paper – (if you want)  and add some stenciling (if you want)

All in the same day….  no tedious prep,  and this final finish has STAY power.  I stand behind my finishes , whether on the wall or on a piece of furniture –  come visit and check it out!

  1. Hi Patty,
Looks awesome! When you say you faded out the blue with the wisteria as you worked your way up the cabinet,… did you just paint wisteria on top of the blue paint when it was still wet? I like the color variation and would like to do that with peppercorn and maybe another color. Thanks Patty!

    • Hi Stacy,

the first layer i just painted on the blue mostly – then the last coat i started w/the blue at the bottom, then had wisteria on a plate, mixed in w// blue and brushed/dragged that on then did the same at the top, working in a blue mostly with wisteria – key is you don’t use much paint at all – and barely takes any blue to tint the white…
