CeCe Caldwell Omaha Ochre With Tea Glaze…

Sampled some CeCe Omaha Ochre

on an oak cabinet panel.   First coat brushed, and already drying

Second coat

letting it dry

covered really nice

I gave it a light sand, and wiped a couple edges with a damp rag (to reveal the original finish),  and ready to glaze

I used Caromal Tea Stain Glaze,  brushed on and wiped off.  Next day I brushed on a coat of CeCe Satin Finish – their topcoat for extra durability

If you prefer a wipe-on topcoat,   Textureline offers several durable topcoat options that are wiped on using a damp cellulose sponge.  I used their Satin Wax (they offer a Flat Wax too) on my old kitchen island and it was simple to apply and long lasting

I carry Textureline products in the store and will be adding some of their topcoats, metallic waxes, pigments and glazes to my online store in the next week.

Leigh Updates Her Oak Kitchen Cabinets With Caromal Paints…

We love seeing painted kitchen cabinet makeovers, by homeowners themselves, don’t we?

Hi Patty,

Thank you for your help in choosing the paint for my kitchen project.  I love the way it all turned out!  I thought you might like to see the before and after pictures!    Thank you!!   Leigh  Farmington Hills

Befores…

Probably what I see the most – honey oak…

In lovely condition, and very functional…  maybe lacking a certain freshness

like this

Did you realize that was the same kitchen?  Go back and look…

Amazing what a little paint, and DIY power can do

LOVE everything about this one!   Leigh chose Textured Basecoat Chocolate for the lower cabinets in the main area, and the uppers are Reclaim Off White with a little Reclaim Pebble to grey them down a bit

Notice she added beadboard to her island

Closeup of the lowers

I did the same thing at my last house – tied my whole kitchen together using the same hardware, even though I’d painted my island different than the rest of the kitchen…

Well thought detailing – ‘feet’ added to give the appearance of furniture –  again, love the beadboard

One last time     BEFORE

and AFTER

Whoooo hooooooo!!!    This kitchen ROCKS!

Leigh, thank you so much for sharing your amazing transformation –  if you stop by to admire your work,  might you share with us how much product your kitchen required?   I’m sure it’s a question everyone asks…

As I tell so many that visit me here and in my store, refinishing your cabinets IS doable – and the most affordable way you’ll find to update your space.
