An Old Rocking Horse Refreshed With Paint and Jazz…

Found him at a garage sale, sitting all alone,  a bit used up, but I saw through his tattered mane…

I decided to make he a she.  I removed the mane and tail, and  brushed / stippled a first coat of Caromal Colour Textured Basecoat color Wisteria (white) right over the freshly clean horse

When the white dried I brushed on a coat of CeCe Caldwell Portland Rose, a really really pale pink.  I sanded a bit, and used a wet rag to distress, then sealed it with CeCe’s Satin Finish

Julia and I hit the craft store purchased pretty beaded trimmings, and decorative ribbons

even a big tassel for it’s tail!

Waiting graciously for a new owner – one who will enjoy many hours of riding…

She did find a great family,  YAY!

  1. That is just lovely. I have a soft spot in my heart for refreshed children’s furnishings and accessories. What a lovely gift this would make for a young child as a birthday present or even a baby shower gift. Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. Reblogged this on Decorum DIYer and commented:
This woman has amazing paint skills and refashioned a tattered, old rocking horse to create a treasure any little girl would love. Definitely a project I’d be willing to try.
