Last Week’s Workshop’ing Results And A Full Piece Reveal!

Pretty bad when I’m into this new week and haven’t posted inspiration from last week’s workshop! This stool is already getting its first coat of CeCe Spring Hill Green DSC_1420

DSC_1428 Then a coat of Santa Fe Turquoise DSC_1444 Sanded and wet wiped back, then stenciled using Caromal Toner, topped with Satin Finish DSC_1450 So pretty… DSC_1447 A before lap table getting it’s first coat of Ce Ce Simply White DSC_1421 Then a layer of CeCe Smoky Mountain Gray, sanded/wet wiped, then a stencil using Simply White…

An accent table getting a first coat of Caromal Mocha Reclaim

turned into this!  A metallic silver blend, then Caromal Colours Toner to soften…  the stencil was done using toner as well.

Ohh Laa Laa!

Starting a chair in CeCe Mississippi Mud

then Vermont Slate over top, sanded and wet wiped back for some reveal…

A little Traverse City Red stencil and some Satin Finish to seal

Another similar chair –

CeCe Sedona  sealed with satin finish…

The rush seat was painted too, with Mississippi Mud, and let me tell you, it looked brand new when she was done!

One last chair – didn’t catch the before –   this is one layer of Caromal Colours Textured Base Paprika brushed on and dried, then Caromal Chipping Crème brushed on,

Textured Basecoat brushes over the dried Chipping crème and then, when dry, gets sanded back to reveal your under color (paprika).

A Paprika stencil and voila, a whole new chair!

Three chest drawers were brought in to work on.  The first coat Caromal Textured basecoat Peppercorn –

Then Chipping Crème and Candy Apple Textured basecoat – all Caromal Colours products from their Artisan Collection.   When dry, the finish was sanded to reveal the peppercorn, then aged using Caromal Toner.

The stencil was added as an afterthought, and total made the piece!

This week I received a nice note from Carol, the workshop attendee that completed the 3 red drawers above:

Hey Ladies,  I just had to send you a note and pictures of before and after. My niece and I took your class Friday night ( I had the 3 drawers) and we had a great time. I couldn’t wait to finish my piece. I am sending you before and after and I guarantee the pictures do no justice. It is beautiful! Please keep me informed if you hold any other type of classes, I would love to take another one. Thanks Again,  Carol

  1. diane Terranova

all beautiful pieces of art.  Fantastic.  Keep up the great painting.

  2. Stunning, as usual! My dream is to tour the U.S. in an RV. One of my stops must be your shop for some painting fun.

  3. Hi Patty, Can you tell me where the knob in the following picture was purchased? Love your work BTW and hope to eventually get to your shop. I live in the Yukon and I’m presently buried in the first year of a Masters program. When I eventually come up for air I do plan to make the trek to Detroit. Its a long way, but I really want to learn from the best! Take care, Colleen
