A Perfect Paint Color For St. Patrick’s Day – Chalk Green…

A perfect chair to turn regal…   This one is getting dressed up in a green  chalk clay mineral based paint.   American Paint Company offers a more natural and earthier chalk paint than ho  hum Ann Sloan,  and it’s my natural paint of choice.

Can’t even patiently complete the chair .. .was so anxious to continue that we literally worked one side start to finish!  Here we’re blowdrying the paint so it will dry fast…

You can see where it’s drying, those areas are lighter…

One coat about covered with this lovely color, but I chose to do a second quick wash layer using water to help move my paint around, like a wash…

When the paint dried, I lightly sanded my flat areas and wet wiped a little to reveal some undercolor…

I used Liberon Medium Oak Bison Wax to age and seal the finish.  Scrub or wipe this on, and then wipe the excess back…

I used Aging Grit –  a cool accent product that will grab onto tacky wax, making your cracks/crevices really old looking, and leaving a cool aging effect on the rest of your piece.

Powder it on, then softly wipe the excess off. DSC_1354 DSC_1355 DSC_1356DSC_1360

Jazzing things up with great fabric and trimmings…
