Crackling A Wall Leads To A Cracked Chest Of Drawers…

I was commissioned late last year to create an accent wall in a client’s loft area – a  not to dark and not too heavy crackle

Soon after,   I pulled out a chest of drawers that had previously been painted white, and went to town …

HOW FUN IS THIS?

I used CeCe Smoky Mountain Gray, sanded it back to some white, then sealed and aged it in one, using Liberon Walnut Wax-

I get asked alot about the crackle finish, after all my store is based on a do-it-yourself concept.  This finish ISNT part of our DIY offerings.   The crackling products  I use are from a company called Faux Effects – they are one of the bigger faux finishing manufacturers, and their products are geared toward professional use, training required or in the minimum,  recommended…

I am not certified to sell OR train any Faux Effects finishes,   thus this is one finish that if you like it you’ll need to buy it.  This custom, one of a kind piece is available for purchase in our showroom –

That piece is what prompted me to crackle the focal wall in our new store…

Totally awesome finish. Would be a striking piece to compliment finishings in a Great Room, Bedroom, Library, Foyer, etc. You are so right when you say one of a kind. Any designer should jump at the chance to place this in her/his client home.

  2. Love all these wonderful items, they all look great ,display is everything, You do that so well in your new facility! Keep up the good work!
