A CeCe Caldwell Blend – SpringHill Green And Cinco Bayou Moss

It all started with these tired drawers from an old desk.  Julie, the owner, brought them in as her ‘piece’ to work on during a recent workshop…

She ended up taking home this – a custom blend of CeCe Caldwell Spring Hill Green 50% and CeCe Caldwell Cinco Bayou Moss 50%, brushed on (one layer) over Caromal Colours texture basecoat Chocolate.

Sanded back to reveal that Chocolate texture, then stenciled with CeCe Vintage White – how perfect was that?

Julie was nice enough to send us AFTER photos –

Hi Patty and the Fabulous Team,

I finally finished the desk!   I have received so many compliments already…. Thanks to you all:).   My girlfriend wants to take a class now so don’t be surprised when we do.   Meanwhile remodeling work on our cottage continues.  So when this work gets done, the desk will have a new home.  I’m really excited and thankful to all of you for getting me to experiment with color!  Check out the photos…

Love love love it!  The addition of the hardware AND it’s placement is just right…

Don’t you want one?  I do!

Our  online store carries all the CeCe products required to complete these finishes, and of course if you’re local to Metro Detroit stop by and we’ll hook you right up at our  retail studio on Van Dyke Rd in Shelby Township.

Even better,  give us a call and sign up for one of our 4 hour workshops – you bring a small piece to refinish (or a few cabinet doors if that’s what your looking to do), pick one of the hundreds of finish samples that are on display (or create your own combo) , and we’ll help you do the rest.  Go home with what will feel like a brand new piece!    Workshops are scheduled weekly ($100) , and fill fast so pick your date and call to sign up – $50 deposit required.  Head here for dates and contact info.

  1. Great choice of colors and stencil. I love seeing the ‘after’ in place at home-sweet-home. Perhaps more of these can be featured?

  2. I’m in love! can you tell me what stencil you used? is it available in your online store???

    • Hi Angie, i actually have several of that stencil in the store – i’d have to ship it in a usps priority tube as its really big! you could call me a the store to order , i dont have them on line – caromal colours makes this one. i think its 50-55 range…

    Good morning!

I am currently working with the Caramoul Colors. Textured Peppercorn, chipping cream, parchment. I did not use a toner. I then put on a clear rub on poly from minwax. Have you had a problem with yellowing against the parchment? I’m guessing it’s because of the poly, however I used a clear base.

    Thanks

    • Hi Cindy, if you have the wipe on poly that is OIL BASED it will yellow/amber – we dont use it over anything white/light for that reason -we do have the water based version (only in gloss) and i’ve tested that one over white/light and it too does slightly amber but nothing like its oil based counterpart. when we use toner over the whites/offwhites it antiques up the finish so much that using the oil based doesnt really matter becuase you cant see the change – but on pure white/offwhite you can. we’ve been recommending the satin finish for white/offwhite topcoating.
