A Little Chest Transformed- Chalk Clay Mineral – BLACK, try APC Cannonball

“How can I make it original??

A few weeks ago I’d picked up some decorative scrapbook papers thinking  I could incorporate them in my finishing  – this piece was the perfect opportunity.

A  black and white damask would be perfect for the front drawer,  and these two new dainty wire pulls were perfect accents.  The rest of the piece would go black-

Modge podged…

I took a scrolly harlequin stencil and stenciled OVER the drawer paper with a stone plaster, just to give it a little dimension. Over that use American Paint Company Cannonball- I wanted it to tie in to the rest of the piece, and didn’t want it to take away from the pretty damask.  It’s very subtle and almost un-noticable, but then when you aren’t looking you notice it.

I added a few swarovski crystals to the wire knobs 🙂

Just right!

I had so much fun painting that I didn’t want to stop – painted inside,  painted outside, painted behind….

Buffed up so easily, I used just a dry cloth…

Didn’t even notice, but the border of this sign looks like the drawer paper!
