Our Chalk Clay Mineral Paint Colors – Bye Bye, Hello, And Hey Hey New Reclaim Colors!

This must be the perfect time of year for paint companies to make color changes-  both our American Paint Company and CeCe Caldwell Chalk Clay and Mineral Paint lines just announced colors changes, as well as our Caromal Colours Reclaim Beyond Paint lineup…

NEW American Paint Company colors are on their way, so far, three have been released.  They are

A-Maize-ing – a bright, vibrant yellow, that I swear covers in ONE SWIPE!

And last, but certainly not least,  Caromal Colour’s Reclaim Beyond Paint line has added four new colors to their existing palette of eight –

new reclaim beyond paint linen, nantucket, poppy, pewter

Linen, Nantucket, Poppy, Pewter

Reclaim is 3 in 1. A Primer, Finisher, Sealer with NO stripping, sanding, or priming necessary. It bonds to almost every surface (varnish, polyurethane, glass, metal, tile, plastic, masonry, laminate, linoleum, wood – unfinished or previously painted with latex or oil-based paint) making virtually any surface paintable. Perfect for kitchen cabinets, furniture, vanities and accessories. When cured, RECLAIM is durable, chip-resistant, and washable with mild soap and water.

  1. Patty-
On your November 18th post when you compare the picture of Reclaim paints with and without glazes, I couldn’t see what the 2 glazes were on the bottom. For example the Reclaim Off White..is that black glaze on the left and molasses on the right? I’m interested in purchasing and creating the look of the Reclaim Off White and black glaze, but didn’t know where to get that black glaze and if indeed that’s what it is-the Fabulous Finishes logo is covering it:)
    Thanks!

    • Hi Yvette, yes that is licorice , or black glaze, on the bottom left and molasses on the right – you can get the beautiful glaze in clear and then their black ‘shade’ aka tin that is called CARBON and mix your own , that way it can be subtle or more intense, you decide.

  2. My Wife has been Shabby Chicing ( sp? ) furniture for about two years. She displayed her work at Renningers in Mt. Dora who is a premium Antique/ Vintage show. She didn’t do as well this year and a few people made the comment that the Pickled or White wash look is coming back. I must admit I am 58 and remember when the Pickled look was ver hot back in the 80’s and 90’s. Has anybody witnessed this trend coming back?

    • hi Mike, i’ve seen more washed finishes – typically in whites/offwhite/gray tones – can get there watering down the chalk/clay paints about 75% – creates a sheer overlay of color – i’ve done that and lightly sanded then sealed – you can still see that theres wood beneath. seeing alot of solid finishes – playing off color, not the heavy reveal back thats been popular. metallic is big in our neck of the woods as well…
