Debbie’s lower level – starting with unfinished cabinets
They painted their own cabinets using Off White Reclaim. The island hasn’t been glazed yet, the rest of the cabinets have, with Reclaim Antiquing Glaze
Reclaim, by Caromal Colours, is our most popular paint for cabinet painting projects
RECLAIM your cabinets, furniture, countertops and accessories and almost any surface with this all-in-one bonder/primer/finisher that cures to a durable, washable surface in just one or two coats. Application is foolproof and the result is a beautiful, professional finish that will transform your home. No Sanding, Stripping, or Priming required!
- Specifically engineered to work indoor or outdoors (use multi-purpose sealer to seal outdoor projects, countertop surfaces or to add extraordinary durability to any RECLAIM surface)
- Slightly textured to eliminate brush marks, provide a finish that conceals imperfections.
- Has more pigment for better coverage
- Contains very fine colorant to avoid fading and allow UV stability (i.e it won’t fade in the sun)
- Eco Friendly- Low VOC, water based and little noticeable odor making it safe for people and pets.
- Making sure your surface is clean, dry, grease and oil free is the only prep work needed before you begin
Matt painted these cabinets

First I want to thank you, finding you on Pinterest was the best thing that could have happened for me and my new kitchen! We had awful 1980s oak cabinets and I love how they turned out with the (Caromal Colours) Tea Glaze over the (Textured Basecoat) Wisteria base!! The compliments have been off the charts, I love the “you did that” the best as I am not creative or even a great painter!
It was time consuming, but easy and the results were well worth it! I’m thinking about doing a vanity next, will definitely be in touch!
A big round of applause!
Textured Basecoats – Bond to almost any surface NO Stripping, Sanding, or Priming. Surface must be clean, dry, grease & wax free.
They REALLY bond – wood, laminate, plastic, glass, metal. They’ll stay put even if you don’t topcoat, but most people do so that their finish will be washable.
Textured basecoats are thicker – like painting with whippy peanut butter. You can get easy textured finishes, primitive rustic finishes, layered distressed chippy finishes, if you choose to use them that way. But they also can be brushed smoother to create a cleaner finish.
These paints typically take 2 coats to cover, and you sand AFTER the paint is dry to give it a smoother finished feel (and it also allows you to diminish brush marks, stuff like that). They also do an excellent job at hiding original grain. They can be rolled on with a textured roller, but this will leave you with a stippled finish.
Kathleen refinished her kitchen cabinets – the before
She used Textured Basecoat Parchment, with Beautiful Antique Glaze-
Amazing what you can do with a little paint, right? Even better, these last two kitchens are customers that both live out of state! They didn’t even have the luxury of seeing, touching, feeling everything in person – that’s a pretty good testimony to these paints being user friendly 🙂 Even if you’re afar, we’ll make you feel at home!
